Yup, I finally got one! I was using my MacPro for business. Showing presentations and creative production to clients. The MacPro is my personal, home computer and I was growing more concerned about it’s life. Little quirky issues were arising so it was time to have our business buy me a new computer OR come up with another solution. It needed to be mobile and allow me to effectively work on our clients social media campaigns, check and respond to email and easily showcase new commercials for client review. The answer? Apple iPad.
It’s pretty spectacular! Lots of versitility and easy of use. But if you’re looking at a iPad as a mini computer…you will be disappointed. There are apps that allow you to adapt elements to use as a temporary computer substitute, but it is NOT a personal computer. It works wonderfully for taking note, reading pdf documents and so much more! In the coming months I’ll be exploring more and more business uses and sharing them! I hope you all will post your suggestions and comments to help me learn from you! What do you love about yours?

YES, this is my tip for today! I raised my daughters that every voice counts. Even more powerful is the sacrifice woman made for years…fighting to even have the right to make their thoughts know! It is our responsibility as citizens and woman to participate in the process of democracy.
When my oldest Lindsay was about 7 years old a commercial for M&M appearing during one of her television shows. It was the one with Halle Berry talking to (I think) the red M&M. She was very sensual, erotic and suggestive. I sat there thinking “Who is M&M targeting in this commercial??!!” During the Magic School Bus cartoon show?? This is a children’s show for God sake! Of course I made my thoughts known verbally and my daughter looked at me and asked “Mom, what could I do about it?” I told her she could write a letter to the Mars Corporation. Let them know how you feel about the portrayal of woman in this commercial and ask why it is running during your television show?
Both of my daughters are now of age to vote…and vote they do! Whether you agree with our governmental process, even if you believe our system is in desperate need of a hard look…it is your RESPONSIBILITY to vote! As woman, our predecessors found too long and hard for our right. Time to make you voice heard! (And if you don’t…don’t bitch about our state direction!) Your thoughts?

Since moving to Virginia I’ve had to find a new bank, new insurance, new doctors, new favorite places to have a glass of wine…. But there is one new that makes a woman quiver…a new place for car repair! I pride myself on knowing a great many things and educating myself on things I do not, but cars?? It feels overwhelming to me. There is nothing more uneasy than taking your automobile in for service then perspiring, waiting for the phone call listing all the things that need repair. Then getting the estimate! A girl wants to run to her Daddy…and I do!
My Dad has always been my “go to” guy when it comes to gauging whether I’m getting ripped off or not. He has maintained and repaired our family cars for years! I know, he knows cars. But since relocating it’s unrealistic to expect him to assist. I believe I found the place I can trust! Tuffy Car Care enter on Richmond/250 in Pantops! Chris and his team are hard working and trustworthy. How do I know?
I’ve had them give me a second opinion twice on issues with my Pontiac and both times they had less invasive options that have proven to solve the problems and last! There are some places in Cville that push repairs and services that aren’t necessary. These guys give it to you straight and with a fair price! My tip for today? Go to Tuffy for your inspection and repairs. They are my “car Dad” in Cville. Where do you go?
