Cville SheBlogs
While doing some light poking around on Facebook I came across a page titled Cville SheBlogs! It’s a group that was developed here in Charlottesville VA for bloggers.
Currently I’m a beginning novice, but I want to expand my reach in the blog-i-sphere and attended my first meeting this past Tuesday. Each month they tackle a different topic to assist bloggers on their journey. Creative Writing was the topic this month and the speaker/teacher was from Four Leaf Public Relations, Suzanne Henry. She gave us tools and tips on how to free up our thinking, overcome writers block (in its many forms) and uncover the ways to discover new ideas!
I must admit, one of the reasons I chose to attend was to open my circle of friendships here in Cville. Since moving here almost 3 years ago my ability to build true friendships has been challenging at best. For some reason I just don’t seem to “jell” with the wonderful ladies of Cville. It’s as if I speak Klingon instead of Bajoran! (Geek alert….yes I use to watch Star Trek, the Next Generation) Then I thought….maybe I’m not exposing myself (figuratively not literally) to woman who pose the interests I do!
I think I have found a place to begin! Cville Sheblogs is filled with woman (and a few men) that are intelligent, friendly and all have a great story to tell! I’ve already signed up to be member and can’t wait for the meeting in June! As Elizabeth Swider, one of the founding members expressed, “Catherine, thanks for joining us! You are with your peeps when you’re at Sheblogs!” I do believe she’s right!
